Funeral services and interment for Jean L. Burroughs (Lautz),87, were private.

 Born July 11,1924, in Newfane, NY, she passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 21,2012, in Barrington.

 Mrs. Burroughs graduated with a bachelor’s degree in bacteriology from Purdue University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She worked for a few years as a research assistant bacteriologist with Schenley Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She later received a teaching degree & taught fourth grade for one year in Lombard, Illinois.

 Mrs. Burroughs was married just short of 55 years to John D. Burroughs.

  Mrs. Burroughs had a wide range of interests & was known for her sharp wit.

 Survivors include her son James (Karen) of Clarendon Hills; grandchildren Jeffrey (Brittany) of Woodridge and Jessica of Naperville; nieces Donna Herwath of Michigan and Christine Lautz of Connecticut; and nephews Richard Lautz (Lucinda) of Indiana, Dr. David Lautz (Lisa) of Wisconsin, and Stephen Lautz of  Indiana. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John, and her brother Herbert A. Lautz & her sister-in-law P. Jean (Dibble) Lautz of Indiana.
