Jean Hunter, formerly of Barrington, passed away surrounded by the love of her family in The Villages, Florida.
She was a small but mighty woman who touched so many with her kindness, caring and zest for life. Born in Berwyn, she spent most of her childhood living in Island Lake. She met her husband while they attended Western Illinois University. They eventually made their home in Barrington where they raised their two children. Jean worked as a teacher and library media specialist for Cary School District 26. After retiring, they moved to The Villages, FL where she enjoyed meeting new friends, travel and many hobbies.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Bill Hunter, children Cheryl (Bruce) Janu and Keith Hunter, sister Dolly Marsh, brother Ken Marsh, grandsons Brennan, Quinn and Logan, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will take place on Jean’s 73rd birthday, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
