Jean H. Jaumot, a resident at The Garlands of Barrington, Barrington, IL passed away Aug. 19, 2014, at the age of 89.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Cherie Jaumot Kizer of Lake Barrington, IL; son, Frank E. Jaumot III of St Augustine, Fla., eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband Frank predeceased Jean in 2010 at the age of 87.
Jean Adelaide Hite was born in Cumberland, Maryland on March 12, 1925. She met Frank E. Jaumot, Jr on September 7, 1940 at a church youth group meeting and they were married seven years later, on September 7, 1947. Jean & Frank lived in Philadelphia until 1956, where Jean earned a BA in Economics with Honors & Distinction from the University of Pennsylvania where Frank had earned his PhD and was on the faculty. In 1956, the Jaumots moved to Kokomo, Indiana when Frank took a position with General Motors at Delco. They lived in Kokomo for 32 years, where Jean was active in many community organizations. In 1988, Frank & Jean moved to Diamondhead, MS to enjoy year-round golfing weather. Jean was soon very active in the community again, including secretary of the Water & Sewer District, a Director of the Diamondhead Community Association, several leadership positions with the United Way and local agencies, the Daughters of the American Revolution and most especially the Diamondhead Community Church, where she was an Elder. In 2006, Frank & Jean moved to The Garlands in Barrington, IL.
