Jean B. (Babin) Metze

Jean Babin Metze, 91, of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2018. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Duluth, MN to Henry Howard and Anna (nee Zinkle) Babin.

Jean enjoyed sewing, traveling, loved music and her church. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

She was a graduate of the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna cum laude. Her career in medical records was her passion. She developed deep friendships with the Alexian Brothers during her 35 years of working for them.

Jean will be deeply missed by her loving children, Robert M. (Barbara) Johnson, Nancy (John) Langlois and Suzae Johnson; grandchildren, Robert Jeffrey and Billy Johnson, Michael (Tanya) Langlois and Amy Langlois; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert M. Johnson Sr. and by her second husband, Robert W. Metze; siblings, Arlene Drew and Howard Babin; and by her parents.

Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 24, at 9 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cary, IL. Interment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
