Jean Marie Sanford

Jean Marie Sanford, of Deer Park, passed away with her loving family at her side on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 92.

She was born June 3, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Robert and Nora (nee Dever) Kyd.

Jean was a trend setting woman whom inspired all that knew and loved her. With her loving husband of over 60 years, Clark, they would start businesses together, and raise three loving children. Jean was also an activist, bringing attention to learning disabilities and developing programs in public schools. She would open a business that would serve her passion for antiques and collectibles. Both Clark and Jean loved boating, social activities, and spending time in the Keys, but most of all, Jean enjoyed her family.

Jean is survived by her children, Clark (Denise) Sanford Jr., Kerry (Robert) Tonge, and Mary Genovese; and grandchildren, Annie Genovese, Nora (Mark) Doroba, Robbie Tonge, Kate Sanford, KJ Sanford, and Clark Sanford III; and her great-granddaughter, Juliet Jean Doroba.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clark Sanford, Sr.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
