Jean Spencer

Jean Spencer, surrounded by loved ones, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Wilma Jean Simonson Spencer was born in Casper, Wyoming, on December 5, 1926, to John Goldie Simonson and Rosella Pearl McIntosh. Jean met her beloved Edward in 1946 at Fort Louis, Washington State. They were married in Chicago, July 12, 1947 and recently celebrated their 68th anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Spencer, and their 3 children, Kandy Workman (John Workman), Scott Spencer (Lois Jean Griffeth Spencer), and Randall Spencer (Lucy Moss Spencer). They have enjoyed the love from 14 grandchildren and soon to be 35 great-grandchildren.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Jean served as a PTA president and the President of a women’s Relief Society organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Davenport Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake , IL.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 26, 10:30am with visitation 9:00-10:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 480 N Walkup Ave, Crystal Lake, IL.
