Jeanette K. (Kaleta) Wrzos

Jeanette Kaleta Wrzos, 96, of Des Plaines passed away on April 29, 2020.  She was born in Chicago on June 22, 1923 to Stanley and Ana (nee Skutnik) Kaleta.

Jeanette was a veteran of the Army Air Force (AAF) serving during WWII as a teletype operator.  She was an active member of the American Legion and was able to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Jeanette was very proud of her military service.  As a career, Jeannette worked for the USPS as a mail carrier.

She married her beloved husband, Alphonse A. Wrzos, on April 26, 1946. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2002.

Jeanette was the loving mother of Vincent A. (Maureen) Wrzos, Sr. and the late Marcia Wrzos; beloved grandmother of Tamara (Dave) Boelens, Christina (Chris) Antonetti, Vincent (Angie) Wrzos, Jr., Angela (Mike) Dittrich, and Amanda Wrzos; and great grandmother of nineteen.  Jeanette was the dear sister of Helen Stencil, Sophie Janusz, and Theodore Kaleta all of whom preceded her in death.

Services for Jeanette will be held privately.   She will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
