Jeffrey L. Ratcliffe

Jeffrey L. Ratcliffe, 60, of Crystal Lake passed away February 22, 2019 at Loyola Medical Center.   He was born in Canton, IL on July 15, 1958 to Lewis and Marcia (nee Bennett) Ratcliffe.

Jeff was a lifelong resident of Crystal Lake.  He was very involved in Boy Scouts, enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley, golfing and following the Cubs.  Jeff was a friend of Bill W.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann (nee Kunkel); his father, Lewis Ratcliffe; children, Robert Ratcliffe, Nicole Ratcliffe and Jon Ratcliffe; stepchildren, Holly, Adam and Ian; grandchildren, Robert, Dominick, Mason and Grayson; and siblings, Debi Case and Jerry Ratcliffe.  Jeff is further survived by a special aunt, Donna Degroot; many cousins; his faithful dog, Stevie; and cats, Bella and Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marcia Ratcliffe and grandson, Nicholas Lee Benton.

A visitation will be Thursday, February 28, from 4 pm until the time of a memorial service at 7:30pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Loyola Medical Center Lung Transplant Team for their relentless care and compassion they have given Jeff over the past couple of years.
