Jennie Abbate

Jennie Abbate, 94 of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. She was born on March 7, 1930 in Chicago to the late Angelo and Francesca Lombardino. 

She was known by her friends at the Lake Zurich Senior Living Apartments as sharp-minded, a loyal friend, and compassionate person. Jennie was known at the Lake Zurich nursing home, where she resided for more than two years, as a cheery person who thought of others over her own needs. The staff was touched by the gratitude she showed for their assistance and several residents befriended her because of her caring quality. 

Jennie will be missed by her children Fran Williams (Mark), Mary Jane Abbate and Angela Del Pino (Pedro); grandchildren Jeremy Kraft (Kate), Michael Fagiano, Sondra Adams, and David Pavlina (Sarah); great-grandchildren Connor Kraft, Aubryn Adams, and Collin Kraft. Her nieces and nephews also meant a great deal to her, as she did to them. Jennie was the last living Lombardino sister. 

She was preceded in death by her son Giulio Abbate (2009), her husband Frank Abbate (2012), and her granddaughter Lisa Fagiano (2023).

Services will be held Friday November 8, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, 60047. Gathering will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
