Jerrilynn Mazurk

Jerrilynn Mazurk, 68, longtime resident of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2024. She was born on August 10, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Geraldine Uryasz. 

On April 1, 1978, Jerrilynn exchanged vows with her devoted husband, David, at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were blessed with three children and further blessed with 5 grandchildren. 

Jerrilynn's passion for nurturing young minds led her to a career in education, where she flourished as a preschool teacher. She poured her heart and soul into her work, impacting countless lives throughout her tenure. She was the dedicated owner of Cary Country Preschool in Trout Valley, IL, where she provided a nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Later, she served as a Pre-K teacher at St. Thomas School, where her warmth and dedication continued to inspire generations of students.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jerrilynn was a woman of many talents and passions. She found solace in the intricate art of quilting and took great joy tending to her garden, where she cultivated beauty and serenity. 
Her culinary talent was legendary, as she delighted family and friends alike with her charming creations. Jerrilynn's kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where laughter and love filled every meal.
What truly defined Jerrilynn was her unwavering kindness and boundless optimism. She approached life with a gentle spirit, always seeking the best in others.

Jerrilynn leaves behind her beloved husband, David, her cherished children, Brian (Sara) Mazurk, Rebecca (Dustin) Scholle and Nathan Mazurk; grandchildren, Sophie and Lyla Mazurk, Tyler Seda, Elaina and Bradley Scholle; her siblings, Jim (Barbara) Uryasz, Dan Uryasz and Cindy (Jon) Russell; and by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial mass for Jerrilynn will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A gathering will take place at church from 9 AM until time of mass. Interment will be private.
