Jerry Lankford

Jerry W. Lankford, 65, of Cary, passed away peacefully March 31, 2017 in Chicago with his loving family by his side.
Born in Welch, WV, and raised in Richlands, VA before moving to the Chicago area in 1971, he was the son of the late Curtis and Lydia (Lester) Lankford. Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend of 30 years, Linda (Sopocy) Lankford, his adored son, Richard (Lauren) Lankford and two cherished step-children he thought of as his own, Dawn (John) Kempf and Dan Mikulski. “Grandpa Jerry” adored his grandchildren; Christiana Kempf, Anthony Kempf, Dominic Kempf and Samantha Lankford whom he loved more than life itself. He is also survived by sisters Linda (Russell) Hurd and Janet (Jackie) Cole, and brothers Michael (Bernie) Lankford and Billy (Ann) Lankford; and many nieces and nephews with children of their own, whom he loved so dearly.
Preceding him in death were six of his siblings, Sylvia (Bill) Gilbert, Ramona Lowe, Curtis Jr. Lankford, Dorothy (Willie) Austin, Paul Thomas Lankford and Connie Lankford.
