Jimmy Brown

Jimmy D. Brown, 70, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 22 from 1-4pm at the Village Squire, West Dundee. Jimmy served in the US Navy and retired after 20 years of service as a chief petty officer; his cremains will be scattered from a naval vessel embarking from Norfolk, VA.
He was born September 18, 1943 in Elgin to the late William and Marian (nee Vandling). He married Sandra McDowell on December 23, 1967.
Jimmy was a 1961 graduate of Elgin High School and was active in the Hiawatha Indian Dancers of Elgin. Jimmy was an elder at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in West Dundee. He worked for several years and retired from the Palatine Post Office Sorting Center.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy; son, Joshua Brown of Carpentersville; step-daughter, Lisa Bloxsom of Virginia Beach, VA; grandson, Tavin Grigsby; sisters, Sharon (Butch) Fehrman of West Dundee and Marty Ann (Roger) Cradduck of Sycamore; and many nieces and nephews.
