Joan Bundra

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan L. Bundra, nee O’Neill,79,will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 11,2012,  at St. Anne Church, 120 N. Ela St. (at the corner of Ela and Franklin Streets), Barrington, where she will lie in state from 9:30 until the time of the mass.  Visitation will also be held from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington.  Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.  Born October 31, 1932 in Chicago, she passed away May 7, 2012 in Skokie.

 Much of her time was spent attending her grandchildren’s games, activities and recitals.  She was a member of Christ the King Parish, a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, and Council of Catholic Women.  She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.  She enjoyed playing the piano and dominoes with friends.  Joan was an avid seamstress and cook. 

 Survivors include her children, Stephen (Judy) Bundra, John (Debi) Bundra, Mary (Jonathan) Hall, Frank (Mary) Bundra, Joe (Laura) Bundra, and Lucy (Peter) Mori; grandchildren, Katherine, Mark and Sarah Bundra, Rebecca, Samantha, James and Angela Bundra, Caitlin Hall, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Erin, Joshua, Kyle, Christopher and Frankie Bundra, Daniel and Gina Bundra, and Bradley, Gabrielle, and Rachel Mori; great-grandchildren, Zackariah, Brooke, Wilder, Liv, Warrior, Ivory, and Liam; sister-in-law Barbara O’Neill, sister-in-law Rosemarie (Joseph) Rieker, and many loving nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Bundra; her parents, John & Lucille (nee Zych) O’Neill, brother Terrance P. O’Neill, father- and mother-in-law  Stephen and Mary (nee Ryba) Bundra.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Bundra’s name may be made to Christ the King Church for the celebration of the Gregorian 30 Masses, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Rd., Wonder Lake, IL  60097, or to Midwest Hospice and Palliative Care, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025.
