Joan E Frett

Joan E. Frett, 95, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024. Joan was born on April 25, 1929, in a house on Ellsworth Street in Crystal Lake, Illinois, to the late John and Josephine Mayer. 

In 1968, Joan bought and maintained another house on Ellsworth Street until her passing. She was a lady of elegance and intelligence personified.

Joan’s primary career was with Western Insurance in Crystal Lake, IL. After retiring, she volunteered at Little Christopher’s Shop, which she enjoyed immensely. 

Joan is survived by her sons, Michael (Judy) Frett, Mark (Louise) Frett; grandchildren, Bree Frett, Shane (Aimee) Frett, Robert Frett, and Jamie (Josh) Petermann; great grandchildren, Jordan Frett, Cole Frett, Riley Frett, Mason Frett and Nathaniel Petermann, sister-in-law, Cynthia Knox and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Mayer; former husband, Robert Frett; siblings, Margeret (Fred) Schroeder, and John (Polly) Mayer, and former sister-in-law, Pat Mayer.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Arden Rose Home Care, Vitas Hospice and Father James of St. Thomas the Apostle Church for his words of comfort.
