Joan M. Jaraczewski, 59, formerly of Roselle and Hoffman Estates, passed away April 25, 2018 in Rockford. She was born June 15, 1958 in Kansas City, KS to the late Edward and Rosemary Jaraczewski, the youngest of three girls.
She graduated from Northern Illinois University. Joan worked as a nurse’s aide for several years and during that time met Phil Jakubik, who was her life partner until his death in 2008. She had a heart for animals and always had cats that her nieces and nephews enjoyed playing with when they visited.
Joan struggled with an autoimmune disease, Churg-Strauss Syndrome that caused other complications that made everyday tasks difficult. Joan kept her positivity and love for life, especially in her final months. She was loved by the residents of her nursing home and they had become like family to her. Joan’s good attitude was an inspiration and would brighten your day.
Survivors include her sisters, Judith (Robert) Lux of The Woodlands, TX and Jane Snyder of Cary, IL, eight nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and three great-nephews and many cousins.
A memorial service for Joan will be Saturday, June 16th, at 11 AM at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Rd., Cary. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine, IL.
