Joan M. (Reichwein) Edwards

Joan Edwards, 67, of Crystal Lake passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022.  She was born on January 9, 1955 to the late Alfred and Marion (nee Lessick) Reichwein.

Joan attended Scared Heart of Mary High School in Rolling Meadows. She graduated from Harper College with an AAS in Nursing and went on to receive her BSN in Nursing from Saint Xavier University. Joan thoroughly enjoyed her career as an orthopedic nurse.

Spending time with her grandkids was Joan’s most favorite thing to do.   She loved horseback riding, dogs, and pretty much all animals. Joan’s extraordinary creativity was shown in her quilting, sewing, and drawing.   Camping and RV trips were always a nice getaway with her family.  She was also a member of the Midwestern Council Racing Organization.

Joan will be greatly missed by her husband of 48 years, Larry; her sons, Rich (Amanda), of Cary and Christopher (Amanda) of Island Lake, her sister Mary Kay Depperman (Ken) of Campbellsport Wi; and her five grandchildren, Maddy, Ryan, Megan, Juliette, and Luke.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, from 3:00PM until the time of a service at 6:30PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
