Joan Meyer

The funeral service for Joan M. Meyer (nee Hively), 90, of Barrington will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St., Barrington. The Reverend Marc Cohen will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, at the funeral home.
Born July 19, 1925 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Joan passed away peacefully on January 16, 2016 in Barrington.
Joan was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts and painting, and roller skating in her younger years.
Joan was the devoted mother of Janet (Leigh) Kinnamon, William (Carolyn) Meyer; cherished grandmother of Richard (Ronda) Meyer, Michael (Selena) Muraski, Jaclyn (Joel) Beth; loving great grandmother of Micah, Maya, and Max Beth, Kasha and Braedon Muraski; a dear sister-in-law to Maxine Hively; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Russell H. Meyer whom she married May 25, 1946 in New Haven, IN; her brother, Charles; and her parents, Orville and Marie (nee Simmers) Hively.
