Joan Torino

Joan Josephine Torino, 83, of Chicago, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Woodstock, IL.

She was born on May 27, 1931 to Irvin and Magdalene in Chicago.

Joan loved her family and her grandkids very much, a simple woman with likes such as Roses, McDonalds coffee, writing letters to the day, loved taking pictures and receiving them, always talked about her kids and friends,could tell you things that happened 40 years ago by detail, and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. But most of all she loved making her crafts and passing them out to family and friends. She will be missed very dearly.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Jeffery (Dottie) Torino, Debbie Torino, Bob (Nadine) Torino, and Anthony Torino; grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Casey, and Miki Torino, Cynthia (Richie) Light, Robbie, Shelby, and Chelsea Torino; great grandchildren, Autumn and Lily Light; sister, Irene Malina; brothers, Eddie Koester and Peter Koester; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Karner; and brother, George Koester.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 3-9p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may go directly to the Torino family to assist in Anthony (Tony) Torino’s future.
