Joanne (Hurley) Hartz

Joanne was born September 3, 1933 in New Boston, OH.  She passed away peacefully July 18, 2018 in Barrington.

Joanne married Herbert Hartz, Jr. November 9, 1952 in Manlius, IL and enjoyed nearly 64 years of marriage until his death May 24, 2016.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius and past historian of the Wild Rose Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, also in Manlius.  Joanne was past president of the Sheffield Women’s Club and Sheffield American Legion Auxiliary; as well as a charter member of the Sheffield Pride and a member of the Ladies Golf League at Midland Country Club.

Joanne loved spending time with her family and friends; golfing, and playing bridge.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Joanne is survived by her daughter Jeanne (Steven) Cliff; granddaughters, Hannah and Caroline; siblings, Dennis Hurley Jr. and Sally Hippen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; parents, Dennis and Goldie Hurley; sister, Patsy Hunt; and brother, John Hurley.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 until the memorial service at 2:30pm, Sunday, July 29 at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, IL.
