Joanne “Jo” Regina White, 80, of Crystal Lake, formerly of McHenry and Schiller Park, passed away November 12, 2016 in Woodstock. Joanne was born September 9, 1936, in Chicago to the late Sylvester and Myrtle (nee Fulle) Maday. She married her high school sweetheart Maynard “Red” White on September 22, 1956, in Chicago. They celebrated 57 years of marriage until his death in 2013.
Joanne was a 1954 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School in Chicago. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma as well as a perpetual caregiver, which extended beyond her family to her friends, neighbors, pets and wildlife. Joanne enjoyed traveling and camping, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed country music, playing cards with anyone within dealing distance and taking long walks.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Kurt) Miller of Algonquin and Denise (John) Lindquist of McHenry; and grandchildren, Jeff (Nicole Szulc-Cieplicki) Miller and Andi (Beau) Sanchez and Brenna, Ryan (Katie Stumpf), Kyle, and Raina Lindquist.
In addition to her husband, Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patricia Rea.
The visitation will be from 12:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, where the funeral service will be held at 4 p.m.
The burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
