John Douglas “Doug” Baxter, long time resident of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2015. He was born on February 25, 1966 in Philadelphia, PA to John and Nancy Baxter.
Doug had a passion for sports, especially the Bears and White Sox. He also enjoyed golfing, spending time with his friends and family. Doug had a very eclectic taste in music from heavy metal to the Beatles. He sponsored many charities and events for several causes such as Autism, Make a Wish, Special Olympics and Unicef.
Doug will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce (nee Bentley); his son Jeremy Baxter; his Mother Nancy Iona, his father John (Flora) Baxter siblings, Robert “Bobby” (Vivian) and David Baxter. Many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Doug was loved and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, from 4 PM until 9 PM and resume on Wednesday, October 28 from 9AM until the 11 AM service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.
