The Mass of Christian Burial for John J. Cash, 92, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 13, at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington, where the family will be receiving friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Father Jack Dewes will officiate. Interment will be private at Arlington National Cemetery.
Born September 3, 1920, he grew up in Bayside, NY, and passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington on Wednesday, July 3, 2013.
Mr. Cash attended Hofstra University and went on to serve as a navigator on a B25 bomber in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He worked for almost 40 years at William Carter Company, where he retired as a Regional Vice President.
Mr. Cash volunteered and was active at St. Anne Church and enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and international travel. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Bob of Barrington, Brian (Sheryl) of Park Ridge, and Larry (Patti) Cash of Woodridge; grandchildren, Olivia, Laura, Patrick, Michael, and Eleanor Cash; and sister-in-law, Dolores Cash of Sound Beach, NY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (nee Griner); daughter, Beverly; siblings, Miriam and Gerard Cash; and sister-in-law, Barbara Cash.
