John T. Collins

John T. Collins, 76, of Woodstock, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home in Woodstock. He was born May 15, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ to John and Regina (nee Kowalski) Collins.

John was a member of the Peace Corps where he met and married his wife, Jane.  John was a Biomedical Engineer, who received outstanding Alumni award from Newark College of Engineering. He was retired from North Western Memorial Hospital and American Hospital Association. John held a master’s degree in electrical engineering and wrote and presented extensively on the topic of wireless communications in hospitals. During his retirement, he enjoyed his trips to Maui, Paris, visiting family, but most of all spending time at home reading his Economist magazines surrounded by the beautiful nature of McHenry County.

John is survived by his brother, Charles; his sisters, Mary, Kathleen, Barbara, and Theresa; and 17 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Collins; his siblings, Patricia, Michael, and Regina; and his parents.

Per John’s wishes, services and interment will be held privately.
