John Michael Ferrero, Jr., 78, of Crystal Lake, IL, born on January 28, 1939 in Chicago to John M. and Mary Frances (nee Leslie/Chester) Ferrero and left us on March 19, 2017. John graduated from St. Patrick HS ’57 then Loyola University (Chicago) ’66.
John married Lois B. (nee Galizia) on June 26, 1965 and enjoyed 51 years together. They were blessed with four precious children, Christine (Scott) Craig, John M. (Karen Burgess) Ferrero III, Jean-Marie (Tom) Brickey, and Scott Ferrero; adored grandfather to Lauren, Nathaniel, Katherine, and Victoria Craig; Annette, Hope, Hadley, and Skyler Ferrero; Amelia, Grace, Joel, and Gwyneth Brickey; loved brother of the late Patricia (Bob) Stanton, the late Theresa Pryor, and Bernadette (John) Gordon; dear uncle to Jessica (Robert) Mihm, and many other nieces and nephews; brother-in-law to Dolores (Ted), Alice (Bob), and the late Norman (Ellen). John, an extremely caring and generous man, will be missed by his fishing buddy, Ted, and rest of his family and friends.
As the proud owner of Ferrero Brothers, Inc., he traveled the world buying, selling and repairing offset printing equipment. His favorite pastime was chasing his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews whenever possible thereby irritating his wife and surrounding adults.
Open visitation will be at Davenport Family Funeral Home, Crystal Lake, on Friday, March 24, 3pm-9pm and Saturday, March 25, 9am-10am followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Crystal Lake. Interment at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
