John F. Kreiner Jr., 72, of Aurora, was returned to sender on November 25, 2021.
He was born on September 25, 1949 in Evanston, IL to John F. Kreiner, Sr. and Lucille Kreiner Hager (nee Dierbeck).
He grew up in Arlington Heights, IL and attended St James school and Quigley Preparatory Seminary. He went on to other seminaries including the Dominicans in Denver, CO and Divine Word Seminary in Epworth, IA, concluding with the Carthusian monastery in Vermont.
Somewhere along his path he was a counselor at Camp Richards in East Troy, WI and at Boys Town in Omaha,NE. When he left the monastery he married his now former wife, Rebecca (nee Anthony), and became the father of three children Jamie, Justen and the late John Paul.
He worked at Sonoco in his later life through to retirement. He enjoyed reading and living his contemplative life. John will be deeply missed by his surviving family and all who knew him.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held Tuesday, December 14 at 11 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. (corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington, IL 60010.
