Crystal Lake, Illinois,John S. Lux of Crystal Lake passed away October 31, 2010 at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Woodstock. He was born May 22, 1921, in Moberly, MO to the late Clare and Audrey Mearl (nee Turpin) Lux. He married the late Blanche D. Lux (nee Martin) on February 18, 1953, in Chicago. Mr. Lux was raised in Benton, IL and served during WWII in the Army?s 123rd division and was stationed as a gunner on New Guinea. He went on to work as a nursing assistant at the North Chicago VA Hospital for over 30 years. Mr. Lux was a resident of Waukegan, IL for over 40 years and spent many winters in McAllen, TX during retirement. Survivors include his daughter, Pam (Jeff) Bell; three grandchildren, Douglas, Thomas (Ashley) and Stephen Bell; and step grandchildren Anita Heath, Leon Fye III and David Fye. His wife and parents preceded Mr. Lux in death. The service will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake where the family will be receiving friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Lisle Kaufman will officiate. Interment will be private.
