John McGarry

John F. McGarry, 82, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 22, 1932 in Canada to Frank and Anna (nee Rehuba) McGarry.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served 20 years and achieved the rank of Major. He served 1 year in Korea and 2 years in Vietnam. John enjoyed traveling and was an avid lover of animals.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane (nee Malley); his children, Michael (Lynn), Laurie (Martin), Beverly (Michael); grandchildren, Nicholas and Kaitlin; step-grandchildren, Lindsey, Ashley, Kayla. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy.

Visitation will be Friday, November 13, from 9 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial, with military honors, to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
