John Nikolich

John Nikolich of Barrington, IL passed away on May 21, 2016 at the age of 87. John was the loving husband of Sophia, his wife of 53 years, and devoted father of John (Annette) and Gregory (Tricia) and loving grandfather of Reed, Tyler, Juliana & Emily. Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many.
John was born on June 29, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Krsto and Katarina Nikolich. He graduated from Lane Technical High School, where he played the French horn on the school band and had a lifelong love of music and dance. John ran a successful real estate brokerage company in the city for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Helen (Losmandy), Millie (Szymczak), Nick, Peter and Rose (Giallombardo).
John will be laid to rest at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4 pm to 8 pm, Pomen (Wake Service) 7:30 pm. Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 12 Noon at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 5701 N. Redwood Drive, Chicago, IL 60631. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
