John C. Palmquist
September 28, 1924 — October 14, 2017
John was born September 28, 1924 in Evanston, where he was a lifelong resident. John moved to Lake Barrington Woods in 2015 to be closer to his daughters. He passed away peacefully October 14, 2017 in Barrington.
John served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a radio operator, stationed in Italy. In 1946 he joined the Chicago Regional Carpenters Local Union 1539, retiring in 1990.
John is survived by his children; Trande (David) Phillips, Joyce Palmquist (Doug Saylor), and Gail (Donald) Sidman; grandchildren, Olav (Annaleah) Phillips; and great grandsons Tristan and Felix Phillips. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Nina Evelyn Palmquist, and his parents, John and Edith Palmquist.
