John Paul Radke

April 24, 1951 — June 30, 2017

John P. Radke, 66 of Crystal Lake, passed away June 30, 2017.  He was born April 24, 1951 in Chicago, IL to John and Alice (nee St. Pierre) Radke.

He is survived by his wife Laura (nee Lindquist) of Crystal Lake; sons Daniel of Crystal Lake and Ben (Amy Flores) Radke of Oak Creek, WI; and his grandson Theodore Radke of Oak Creek, WI; brothers Paul Radke, Bill (Pat) Radke, Jim (Dorothy) Radke; sister Margaret Radke; Martha Hurm, and Tom McKibben; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Robert Pruitt; two sisters, Lauretta Payton and Dianne McKibben.

John was a 1969 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School, and graduated from NIU with a business degree and continued towards an MBA at NIU.  After college, he worked for industrial supply companies such as W.W. Grainger, Home Depot Supply, and Lawson Products in executive positions.  He was an enthusiastic member of several Crystal Lake Central High School 1969 class reunion committees.  He was also an avid fisherman with many fishing stories.  John also enjoyed cooking, photography, boating, traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe.  He proudly worked with a veteran’s group for 10 years called “Healing Our Wounded Heroes.”  He became interested in local McHenry County politics and became a precinct captain in Algonquin Township in 2016. John was a fun and loving family man with many wonderful friends.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 11a.m. - 2p.m. at Park Place Banquet Facility located at 406 W. Woodstock Street, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Please RSVP by voicemail to 847-639-5828.
