John William Swett

John William Swett passed away peacefully January 24, 2025 at his home in Crystal Lake. He was born in Woodstock, IL August 8, 1948 to Warren and Sylvia Swett.

John was lifelong Crystal Lake resident and proudly served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanical engineer for over 25 years and was a Drafting Instructor at McHenry Community College for many years.

John is survived by his siblings, Martha (Larry) Richards, Jim (Susan) Swett, Richard (Barb) Swett, and Antoinette Swett; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine, his parents; and siblings, Edward (Lydia) Swett, Thomas Swett, and Dennis Swett.

Visitation will be from 10am until the memorial service at 12pm Saturday June 14th at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176) Crystal Lake. John and Elaine will be interred together at Arlington National Cemetery.
