John “Jack” Lusak passed away peacefully February 23, 2023 in Barrington. He was born February 21, 1939 in Chicago to John and Elizabeth (nee Marsalek) Lusak.
Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (nee Morelli); son, Ronald W. Cobb, Jr. and his wife, loving daughter-in- law, Sharon L. Cobb; grandchildren, Ronald W. Cobb III (Megan), Andrew (Olivia) Cobb, and Peter (Tia) Cobb; great grandson, Ronald W. Cobb IV; sister, Karen Rill, and goddaughters, Diann Marsalek and Elizabeth Rossi Pierobon. He was preceded in death by his parents; Aunts and Uncles and other relatives.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Chicago and attended Gordon Tech High School. He went to Roosevelt University and University of Illinois Law School following the footsteps of his Uncle Ed Marsalek into the legal profession.
Jack was called to the Bar in 1965 and continued the practice of law, principally at the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission, until his retirement in 2021. During that time he faithfully served thousands of injured workers.
In addition to being a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather, Jack enjoyed fine wine, cooking and his beloved Cubs.
There will be visitation at 9am until the funeral mass at 11am, Saturday March 4 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. Interment will be private.
