John “Jack” McMahon, 91, of Inverness passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 7, 2021. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Chicago to Patrick and Joan (nee Andrews) McMahon.
Jack’s entire career was in the paper industry, where he worked in printing and packaging and retired as CEO of Gallant Greetings.He loved his family, golf and travel. Jack was a 40 year member of Inverness Golf Club, where he enjoyed playing golf regularly, with friends and family. He was a life member of the Medinah Shriners since 1963 and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Chicago. Jack was a good friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jack was the loving husband of 66 years to Donna (nee Larson) McMahon, father of Susan (Sheffield) Hyde and Barbara (Thomas) Strauss; grandfather of Ryan (Rose), Kyle and Jack Strauss, Andrew (Liza) and Emily Hyde; and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lorraine Norris.
Services and interment will be held privately by Jack’s family.
