Jose “Chepo” Rodriguez, 42, of Marengo, passed away Sunday after a traffic accident, January 14, 2018 in Hebron, Illinois. He was born on July 17, 1975 in Chicago to Jose and Maria (nee Benitez) Rodriguez.
Chepo spent lots of time growing up in Monterrey, Mexico and frequently visited friends and family there. He married the love of his life, Delia Rodriguez, on August , 1996. He opened up his own business, A&J Auto, in 2013. It was a business in which he did what he loved, which was working on cars, a love that he has passed on to his two sons, Jose “Chepito” and Alejandro.
He was a beloved father to his children and loving husband to his wife. Anyone who met Chepo knew he was a straight forward, tell-it-how-it-is kind of guy. His loyalty to his family was unmatched and he was a person that you could rely on for anything. He was always there for his family and would have done anything for them. He was such a fun loving guy who could have a great time anywhere and with anyone. He was a one-of-a-kind individual who will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife, Delia (nee Palacios) Rodriguez; his children, Jose ”Chepito”, Alejandro, Natalia, and Ariana Rodriguez; his mother, Maria Rodriguez ;his siblings, Maria (Osvaldo) Juarez, Virginia Rodriguez, Jeanette (Icidro) Cristobal, and Jesse Rodriguez; and his foster son, Ulisses Lechuga.
He was preceded by his father, Jose Rodriguez in death.
The lives that Chepo touched are invited to Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, from 3pm until 9pm on Thursday January 25th of 2018, to reminisce, grieve, support, and, of course, celebrate his life. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 10am Friday, January 26th of 2018, proceeding to Sacred Heart Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo for Mass at 11am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Marengo.
