Joseph P. Kowasz, 73, of Prairie Grove, formerly of Hanover Park, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
He was born February 13, 1941, in Hamtramck, MI to the late Joseph and Halina (nee Rutkowski) Kowasz.
Joe’s favorite things in life were spending time with his grandsons and watching their baseball games, going to Maui, and spending time on the golf course. He was also known as “Joe K.” to all of his customers at Rockenbach and Raymond Chevrolet.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia (nee Koscicki); children, Keith Kowasz and Melissa (Mark) McKim; grandsons, Mason and Maddon McKim; sister, Barbara (Maynard) Lapinski; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Kevin John Kowasz.
The visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Sunday, November 30, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
There will also be visitation Monday, December 1, from 9 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home, processing to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, for a 10 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
