Joseph D. Schultz

Joseph D. Schultz, 82, of Lake Zurich passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022. He was born on July 30, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Florence Schultz.

Joe was a kindhearted, loving man with a zest for life. He always was happy and made sure to treat everyone he encountered with the utmost respect. Joe enjoyed volunteering his time and was very active with Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital for over 10 years. He was an avid golfer and runner, competing in 5 Chicago Marathons and several 10Ks.

Joe enjoyed listening to jazz, collecting coins, golf and even loved to do the dishes and laundry. Some of his greatest joys included the 3 Stooges, the Jurassic Park movies, a cold glass of Ovaltine and a “Joe Schultz Special” sandwich. He was one of the nicest people you would ever want to know - always positive, always willing to do anything for anyone and above all he loved his family so very much.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Ildiko, nee Marko; children, David M. (Kalie) Schultz, Eileen Schultz Elfezouaty, and Melissa Beth (Michael Levey) Reiner; grandchildren, Gabriella, Aaron, Talia, Eleazar, Ariel, Solomon, Miles and Baby Schultz; his sister, Bonnie Schultz Lubowy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, from 4 PM until 8 PM with eulogies starting at 6 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
