Josephine O'Rourke

Josephine Zita O’Rourke (nee Hunt) was born on March 20, 1920 in Bronx, New York to George and Mary (nee Farragher) Hunt. She was married to John Patrick O’Rourke in St. Clare’s Catholic Church in the Bronx on Oct. 18, 1941. They lived in the Bronx for many years, followed by Worcester, New York, and in 1956 moved to Panorama City, CA. In 1978 they moved to Crystal Lake, Illinois.

She was a graduate of Julia Richman High School and Burrough’s Business School, both in Manhattan.

She was a member of the Crystal Lake Senior Citizen Club and was a member of St. Jude’s Guild at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She worked for Safeco Insurance in Panorama City, California for 21 years.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Marguerite (Dennis) Faulds of Crystal Lake and Pamela (Miguel) Romero of Agua Dulce, CA; granddaughters, Danielle (Todd) Morlock of Crystal Lake and Audra (Kenny) Hoyer of Grayslake; great-grandson, Hunter Morlock; great-granddaughters, Madison Enman, Ansley Morlock, and Isabella Hoyer; step-great-granddaughters, Lizzy and Ally Hoyer; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hunt of Caribou, Maine and Geraldine Hunt of South Windsor, Connecticut; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Patrick, her parents, and her brothers, George, Vincent, Raymond, John, and Joseph; and sister-in-law, Veronica Hunt.

The visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, from 5-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Friday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
