Joseph “Joe” Anthony Slovak, of Algonquin passed away peacefully in his home on October 1, 2020 at the age of 57. He fought his cancer the way he lived his life: with a smirk and sarcasm.
An avid lover of Deadpool, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Cheap Trick, just to name a few, Joe will always be remembered for his love of life, rock 'n roll attitude, and wild sense of humor.
Joe will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Judyth (nee Armstrong); children, Jessica (Tyler) Bantz, Allyson (Jeff) Slovak, and Joseph Slovak; grandchild Cayson; sisters Deidra (James) Hurt and Pamela (Terry) Tuttle; and his tremendously large extended family, including loving friends that were, to Joe, always family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lucille Slovak, sister Dolores, and brother Randy.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 4PM until the memorial service at 7:30 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private. Social distancing and masks will be our shared practice, so please, as Joe always said, don’t be a maskhole.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boxer Rebound, 4915 Ringwood Rd, Ringwood, IL 60072.
