Joshua Burkett

Joshua Wayne Burkett, 27, of Bull Valley passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 as the result of an auto accident in Woodstock. On September 14, 1982 he was born to Dan and Jerilyn (nee Reed) Burkett in Brewton, Alabama. For the past 13 years, he worked for Lloyds Paint & Paper in Woodstock and Crystal Lake. He also was the caretaker of a private 10 acre estate in Bull Valley. Joshua lived life to the fullest. He was a very private person who was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Snow boarding, sky diving, the rewards of hard work and spending time in the outdoors were some of the things he enjoyed. His survivors include his beloved wife, Stephanie M. (nee Phelps) Burkett whom he married on May 26, 2006 in Bull Valley; his loving parents, Jerilyn and Dan Burkett of Crystal Lake; his dear brother, Andrew Burkett of Crystal Lake; his cherished maternal grandmother, Judith L. (nee Sigwart) Reed; his adored god parents, Jay C. Reed and Debra D. Welch; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Emaline (nee Dickman) and Ramon L. Burkett and his maternal grandfather, Gerald R. Reed. The visitation will be held from 3-9pm, Saturday, May 8 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt 176), Crystal Lake with a Celebration of Life Service at 7pm.
