Julie Marie Neal Alton

Julie Marie Neal Alton of North Barrington, Illinois, died peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the age of 58.

Julie was born to Lorraine Helen Neal (née Mantas) & Glenn Eldred Neal on July 4, 1960 in Atlanta, GA.

Passionate about her work as an architectural designer, Julie had an eye for design and was always up to talk about pattern samples, textiles, hardwoods, or color palettes. Stemming from her experiences of pursuing a BFA at Northern Illinois University, Julie’s passion for design extended into all areas of her life: she was always dabbling in an artistic pursuit, whether it was making ceramic bowls, photographing flowers, or tending to her heirloom garden.

Deeply invested in her family and community, Julie was devoted to caring for her husband and raising her four children. She happily spent her evenings cheering at her children’s sporting events, attending functions at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, and taking long walks in the woods.

Julie is survived by her husband, Steven Wayne Alton; her children, Jayme Marie Alton, Jenna Neal Alton, Leslie Anne Alton, and Steven Donald Alton; and her mother, Lorraine Helen Neal.

Friends are welcome to visit with Julie's family for both the wake and funeral this weekend. The wake will be on Friday, November 2nd, from 5-8 P.M. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington. The funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington on the following day, Saturday, November 3rd. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., and services will commence at 11:00 A.M. at 6 Brinker Rd., Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
