Karen Teuscher MacNames, 66, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully August 12, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She was born August 6, 1947 in Belvidere, IL to Ralph and Olga Teuscher.
Karen graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years at Prairie Grove and in Crystal Lake. She will be remembered as a wonderfully gifted teacher and inspiration to all.
Above all, Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. She loved spending time with her family and at their home in Door County, Wisconsin. She was also an active member with First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake. Karen was a very loving and caring woman, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her loving husband of 43 years, Jim, Karen is survived by her daughter, Ann (Michael) Plant and grandchildren, Carson, Abigail, and Maxwell Plant.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Karen will be held at First Congregational Church on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10 a.m., 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Following the service there will be a reception held at the church.
