Karen Roewer, 82, passed away peacefully June 18, 2022 in Oakwood Hills, IL. She was born on July 16, 1939 to the late Walter and Laura Geske in Elgin, IL.
Karen enjoyed cross stitching, beading, and crocheting. She spent her retirement camping throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and Texas. Evenings included sitting by the bonfire with friends and family. Karen’s favorite time of the year was the holidays when she would work as the professional cookie taster while baking with her family.
Karen is survived by her beloved kitty Poppy; her children, Loretta (Joe) Kreppel, Juanita Roewer, Valerie (Kevin) Hein, Nadine (Brett) Meseure, Kevin (Patty) Roewer; grandchildren, Britney (Deb Wasielewski) Love, Elizabeth (Ryan) Kirkpatrick, Samantha (Brian) Alberts, Christopher (Tisha) Ross, Stephanie (Justin) Condon, Heather (John) Hein, Ryan Roewer, Jeff Roewer, Tiffanie Roewer, and Danielle (Gerald) Casteel; great grandchildren, Seth, Remus, James, Liam, Joey, Zoe, Austin, Daniel, Damien, Logan, Lukas, Olivia, Lillie, and Zailia.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Vernon Roewer who passed away in 2017; brother, Dale Geske; and sister, Jean Oker.
Visitation will be held June 24, 2022 from 4pm til the time of the prayer service at 6:30pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
