Palatine, Illinois,Karen Sweeney, 59, of Palatine, entered eternal life, May 30 2010 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Pottsville, PA June 5, 1950 to Robert A. and Eleanor A. (nee Perlack) Sweeney. She enjoyed gardening, family, especially her niece and nephew, and giving to others. She is survived by her brother Robert C. (Debbie) Sweeney; one niece, Stephanie, one nephew, Alex; long time companion, Doug Fleck. She was preceded in death by her parents. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, appreciated.
