Karen J. Taha (Hare), 53, of Cary passed away peacefully August 11, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. Karen fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 22, 1965 to Bill and Joanne (Foster) Hare in Camp Hill, PA.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Husam Taha; parents, Bill and Joanne Hare; brothers, William Hare and Michael Hare; nieces and nephews, Michael, Chrissy, Jason, Vicky, Kevin, Troy, Ross, and Jimmy; and numerous cousins in Pennsylvania and Florida.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents; niece, Lynnsey; cousins, Michelle and Robin; and beloved dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.
Karen graduated from Hersey High School in 1983. She attended Harper College in Palatine, and worked in the IT field with Wickes Furniture, Sara Lee, Quill Corporation, Sears, and Abbott Labs. Her family and dogs brought her much joy. She enjoyed traveling, puzzles, and was very creative with her hands making beautiful stained glass masterpieces. Karen was what would be considered a friend collector. Her contagious personality made it easy to make friends wherever she was. Karen will be greatly missed by so many.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Visitation will follow on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of a service at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
