Kathleen P. Callahan

Kathleen P. Callahan, 81, of Marco Island, FL and Barrington, IL died peacefully surrounded by loving family on Sunday, December 29th after a courageous battle with chronic illnesses. 

Kathy graduated from Elmwood Park High School and attended the University of Colorado. She graduated with a degree (BA) in Art History from Northeastern Illinois University. In Palatine (IL), she served as the president of the League of Women Voters, a member of both the Garden Club and Beautification Committee, and was an active participant in the Sister Cities Association of Palatine. 

Kathy loved spending time with her family, traveling, playing Scrabble, being on Marco Island, gardening, and flower arranging. 

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, Kathy is survived by her sons, James (Claire) and Thomas (Amy); grandchildren, Nolan and Elise; and a brother, Thomas Paluck. 

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Claudette; and brother, Ron. 

A memorial visitation for Kathy will be held from 9am until the time of mass at 10:30am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010.
