Kelly Mason-Acker, 54, of Barrington, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2018 after a courageous 11-year battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 14, 1963 in Portland, OR to William and Norazita Mason.
Kelly grew up in Portland, graduating from David Douglas High School in 1981. After accepting a new job in 1997, she relocated to Illinois. There she met the love of her life, Mike. They were married in 2002. At the same time, they adopted their faithful and beloved four-legged daughter, Mia. In Ireland in 2017, Kelly and Mike celebrated their 15 years of loving devotion to each other by renewing their wedding vows in front of their close friends.
Kelly loved and will be missed by her beloved sisters Deborah Ross and Chris Mason. She brought unimaginable joy and richness into their lives. They will cherish the memories of their many "sister trips".
Kelly was a bright shining star!
Kelly cherished her friends and the good times they shared. Loving and kind, she genuinely cared about all people. She had a way of touching the heart of everyone she met. She was positive, upbeat and joyful and quick to offer encouraging, uplifting words. Funny and quick-witted, she had sparkly eyes and a contagious laugh. She had a tender heart for all animals. Even while facing cancer, she remarkably, gracefully and courageously found some small bit of joy in each day.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00pm until the 3:30pm memorial service at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
