Kenneth George Bredemeier, 93, of Wauconda passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born in Steinauer, NE to Friedrich and Louisa (nee Gottula) Bredemeier on November 7, 1927.

Ken grew up on the Bredemeier farm in Steinauer, NE. He married Marge Mahloch on August 25, 1946 and they started their life together farming in Steinauer. Ken opened a Case Dealership and would later move his family to Racine, WI to work at the Case headquarters. He left JI Case and worked for Pettibone which eventually lead to a move to Wauconda, IL. He finished his working career at CNA Insurance in Chicago. Marge passed on June 30, 2004.

Ken was active in his church where he met Rita Erickson, and they married in 2008. Ken and Rita traveled and continued to support many outreach efforts in the church including the Re-member for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and various disaster relief efforts.

Ken was an antique tractor enthusiast and past president of J.I. Case Collectors Associatiation antique tractor club.

Survivors include his children, Bonnie (Ron) Vance, David (Lori) Bredemeier, Tom (Penny) Bredemeier and Jon (Bobbie) Bredemeier; grandchildren, Mike, Niki and Matt Engel, Case, Keddy, Ben, Tyler and Paige Bredemeier; and his wife, Rita Erickson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marge, and his siblings, Gerhard, Edwin, Lorenz, Ernest, Charlotte Richardson and Margaret Robinson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1st , at 3 pm at First Congregational Church, 461 Pierson St, Crystal Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Congregation Church, in Ken’s name.
