Kenneth “Ken” Kalck, 83, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday night, April 10, 2025. He married Barbara Betke 61 years ago, and together they raised two daughters.
Ken's family has owned and operated Kalck’s Butcher Shop in downtown Crystal Lake for over 50 years. He enjoyed working side by side with his family and was always ready to chat with customers who stopped in. The shop was more than just a business, it was a place where Ken connected with the community and made people feel at home.
He was an avid hobbyist who could build or fix just about anything. Planes, cars, Model A’s, you name it. He loved spending time at The Barn with his buddies, working on projects and enjoying the company. Ken was always willing to help and never hesitated to lend a hand.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; daughters, Melanie (William) Roberts and Wendy (Tom) Kotlowski; his grandson, Cole; and his sister, Nanette (Arwin) Berkley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bernice (Roraff) Kalck.
Ken’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially those lucky enough to call him friend.
