Kenneth Lee Lawrence,80, of Union, passed away on Wednesday, December 14,2011, in South Elgin.
He was born on December 26, 1930 to Fred and Irene Lawrence in Harper Iowa.
Ken graduated from McHenry Community High School in 1948. He joined the US Navy where he served some of his time in Guam. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling to Minnesota where he enjoyed fishing. He loved watching NASCAR, football and baseball. Ken worked as a carpenter and was a member of the local 2087 Carpenters Union for 39 years.
He is survived by his loving children, Richard (Katherine) Lawrence and Brenda Sturgill; grandson, Brandon (significant other Caitlyn) Sturgill; great-grandson, Blaine Sturgill; brother, John (Margaret) Lawrence; nephews, niece; and Ken’s very special friend Virginia Wagoner.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Donna (nee Freund) Lawrence.
Services and burial will be held privately.
