Kevin Colosia, peacefully departed his home in Barrington Hills on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, in the arms of his loving wife of 30 years, Sonja (nee Card), surrounded by his adoring children, Jake and Amy.
He was born on May 10, 1949, to Kevin Robert and Ruth Colosia in Chicago, Illinois.
Always outgoing and the first to volunteer, Kevin was a staunch supporter of our veterans. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he went to work for Motorola and played a key role in the launch of the first cellular system in the US. Retiring after 27 years with Motorola, Kevin focused his abundant energy into his family, and his local community. His kind heart and love for projects was admired by all. A true engineer, Kevin never met a task he couldn’t master. He was a teacher of all things, his word was his bond, and his undeniable character was shown in every challenge he faced. Kevin’s kind heart and gentle guidance will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Barrington Hills community.
Visitation will be held from 2-7p.m., with a funeral service held at 6:30p.m., Sunday, September 27, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
